Domains & Websites 101 - For a Better Internet

We are proud to service our clients and our pride reflects in our passion for customer satisfaction and quality products. We do good business because it's the right thing to do. We believe that whether you do business with us or not, you should put yourself in the best position when you create your website.

Important questions you should ask:

Does the company outsource its web design and programming?

On many occasions, we see companies outsource their web development overseas. Now, this isn't always a bad thing. But, before we proceed, you should know the general rule of spending, which is... "you get what you pay for."

However, if you are paying for quality and you get below-par service... you should be concerned. Besides, with the super-low cost of overseas labor, many companies charge you for top-notch work and deliver a poor product.

All of our developers are in-house and we keep a close eye on the development cycle for each of our clients.

Are their writers outsourced? Are their content writers professionals?

Just like web development, companies can outsource their writing services too. The biggest problem with this is that English isn't always the writer's first language. Because of this, the writing product has grammatical errors and usually reads and flows at an elementary school level.

We have our own writing and editing staff and we hire writers from all across the United States. Each of our writers go through a rigorous testing process. We only hire the best writers and are very picky with who makes the cut.

All of our writing products go through our in-house editing department to make sure the writing is professional and that there is no plagiarism or grammatical errors present.

What you should watch out for:

Junk Domain Names

Domain names with "hyphens" (also known as "dashes") are not very user friendly. For example, the domain name "mydomainname.com" is very different than "my-domain-name.com." But when spoken, "my-domain-name.com" sounds just like "mydomainname.com." Chances are people will type in the wrong domain name. Therefore, the value of a domain with "dashes" is much less valuable.

Also, domain names with "numbers" (0-9) are not very user friendly. Again, when these domains are spoken, "123.com" sounds just like "onetwothree.com."

In either case, when "dashes" or "numbers" are used in a domain name the chances of a "nice sounding" domain are good. Whether that domain has "good value" is a different story. Don't be taken by this easy trick. Don't forget, what something "sounds like" isn't always "what it is."

Guaranteed Traffic or Rankings

This one is just about as old as the Internet itself.

The only real "guaranteed traffic" on the Internet today is Pay-Per-Click (PPC) marketing. The reason why PPC marketing could be called "guaranteed" is because you pay for each visitor to your website, if users don't click, you don't pay. If a company is claiming that they can guarantee you X number of visitors or hits per month, think twice and use your common sense.

Think about it, every website topic is different. The daily ups and downs of the economy and news media can largely impact changes in Internet search traffic every day. If an economic disaster happened, then the traffic in certain markets would change drastically.

Remember this old rule of thumb... "Nothing real in life is free or guaranteed."

Replicated or Cookie-Cutter Websites

You should steer clear of affiliate, cookie-cutter and casino / gambling websites as well. Everyone who buys into these programs gets the same website as everyone else. Most times you can have your name on the website but you are not separating yourself in any way, which is a primary goal for any investor's online real estate. Many times with these kinds of websites, consumers don't even get their own domain name.

Every one of our clients' websites is different and unique from the next.

Get Rich Quick

Making money in the domain name and online real estate business is a mid- to long-term process. The goal is to build up your property over time and sell it in the future. The money making opportunities that we place on our clients' website are simply that, opportunities. They are tools for the Investor to get the most out of their property while it's in the "build up" phase. Making monthly income with these tools should not be the primary focus.

Again, the domain name and online real estate business is not a quick money maker. It has, however, proven to be an outstanding long term investment, showing a 377% return on investment*. *Source: Zetetic

Plagiarized Text, Images & Photography

"Website Content" includes text, photos and graphical images. All the content on your website is your responsibility. If your website has copyrighted work that you did not produce yourself, you MUST get permission to use that content. Otherwise, you will be the responsible party for consequences or fines. Be sure to ask your content providers if the photos, graphics and text is unique and owned (or permitted to be published) by you.

Ecommerce & Shopping

When a company allows you to sell products on your website, keep your eyes open. Many times it looks like your website will carry a lot of high quality products. But, when you look closer, you see that all the products are low quality knick-knack items or not the name brands that were promised. These products are hard to give away, let alone sell online.

We provide our customers with "custom" shopping cart integrations and features not found with any other domain investing and online real estate program. Watch out for cheap products, no inventory control, no integrated shopping cart and not being able to request new products.
